urban picnic 2013

Art will take center stage at Urban Picnic 2013 – an event featuring creative and diverse works in painting, drawing, sculpture and photography by established and emerging artists.  The luncheon and art auction takes place on Friday, April 12 in the enchanting courtyard gardens of La Encantada Shopping Center and promises to be an exciting opportunity for both aspiring and veteran collectors to acquire works of art.  In keeping with the ‘picnic’ theme, selected local artists have been invited to submit original art lunchboxes.  From whimsical to elegant forms, each lunchbox is a unique art piece representing the personal expression of the artist who created it.

The event begins with a silent auction of juried artwork by some of the area’s top artists.  Enjoy mimosas, al fresco picnic lunch, live musical entertainment and a performance by Ballet Tucson’s talented professional dancers as you contemplate bids for your favorite pieces of art.  The day culminates with a fun and energetic live auction for the creative lunchboxes and other exceptional artwork.  The range and excellence of this year’s Urban Picnic represent the very best of fine art from Tucson and the Southern Arizona region.
